Why You Should Read The Go-Giver
A short summary of the book
The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann is a story about an ordinary everyday “Joe” (The name of the protagonist). Joe seeks to improve his success and productivity, but the harder he works, the less he seems to accomplish. Joe starts out as a burned-out unhappy businessman that seeks help from a guru to learn how he can have astronomical success. A short self-help book that is worth the read.
The Go-Giver is a short read with 144 pages. I would not characterize myself as an “avid” reader and it took me just 3 hours to read. The story reads like your grandpa giving you advice. The best way to enjoy this book is to start it with the intention of finishing it the same day. It is not hard to accomplish because it grips you as Joe seeks out the 5 rules to have astronomical success.
This book will not have you laughing or crying, but instead, it elicits self-reflection of how happy you are and if there are ways you can change your attitude and behavior to live happier.
I would recommend this book to anyone. It is not gender, age, or subject-specific. It is meant to be a good time and to reflect on your own life.
